I have read this information.
I hope all have enough firewood in UK and Europe.

Citation:
"Worst winter for decades: Record-breaking snow predicted for November !
Forecasters last night warned the entire country is set for a horror freeze which will bring brutal winds and fierce blizzards.
Temperatures have already started to plunge as a swathe of cold air from the Arctic has swept across the UK in the past few days.
The first long-range forecasts warn of "recordbreaking snowfall" next month. ... ...." END

We have that here as well. If the Rowan tree has lots of berries early then it's a sign of a harsh winter...
The Rowan was also planted in Scotland near houses to ward off evil.

Fo rmy part I have considered to build up some storage of canned food items, justin case that infrastructure and transportation should become unawailable for some period of time. Then, I have some old windos that are not that good isolated, I have listed the things I will need to make additional frames with plexiglas for these windows, so that less heat will be lsot that way.

Kim thanks for your notes and information.
I will buy grain for the birds and will mount the snow plow on my compact-tractor.
I am still considering whether to buy an emergency generator.
