Hello,

Unfortunately, the reintroduction of wolves in Scotland stopped.

Quote:
"Scottish wolf plan abandoned

Plans to introduce European wolves to a 23,000 acre estate in Scotland have been abandoned following advice that the area was too small to sustain a viable wolf population. Paul Lister had planned to bring in wolves (along with lynx and bears) as part of an eco-tourism project.

The project faced strong objection from ramblers' associations and local landowners.

Wild boar and elk have already been introduced and there are no plans to remove them." END

Thanks for posting the video Joerg. Upsetting to imagine wolves being culled. Here's a recent anecdote. Some city folk bought a piece of property near my parents' ranch in southern Alberta, which they use as a weekend getaway. They heard some elk calling out and the new owner decided to bugle in reply. Imagine his surprise when a magnificent grey wolf came bursting out of the forest towards him and his family - clearly on the hunt for elk! Wish there was a happy ending here, but no, they shot the wolf dead. A senseless waste. :(

Thanks Shelley for your message and your anecdote. Yes, some people are not fair to animals.

Here in Saxony and in my homeland, in Silesia (region in west Poland) dead many wolves in the road traffic.
Some were shot and killed also.

All the best
