TOPIC: Deerhound or Wolfhound?

Deerhound or Wolfhound? 4 years 4 months ago #40772

I just wanted people's opinions as to about what one of our pups is going to look like? Looking at her photo's do you think more deerhound or wolfhound?

The dam is a deerhound (Kilbourne) and the sire is a wolfhound

Difficult to say with one so young considering Deerhounds don't fully mature physically until around 3yrs. lovely dogs! :)

I don't think I have heard of a Celtic hound but it sounds nice :) I have a 5 month old deerhound x wolfhound. Her mum is one of my deerhounds and dad is an Irish wolfhound - she is much more wolfhound than deerhound and is huge and growing like a weed. It was a very popular litter and I could have sold the pups several times over! I had never bred a litter before and it was a wonderful experience but mum has now been spayed and I wont breed again.

I agree with greycloud Neil, it does sound nice, might start a new breed!!

It would be nice to see some photo's of your pup greycloud. Freya is we think is a little on the small side. At her 8 week vaccinations she was only 5kg. The litter Freya was from was 13 and they all sold quickly as well.
