We have found lots of dog friendly cottages/hotels/B&B just by Googling for dog friendly accommodation.
For a special occasion Passford House near Lymmington /Brockenhurst in the New Forest was lovely. (expensive normally but they do do very good offers at certain times of year!)
Rowleth End in Upper Swaledale was recommended by friends who were there last week.

Thanks Wendy I will take a look at their site.as for sea or mountains either we really just want to spend some time away from where we live.My daughter lives for the dogs and just loves to get away and wander and explore ,a number of years ago we went to Wales for as week,I left them (my wife and daughter) and returned to work. They were to stay on there another week ...they returned home 12 weeks later with another dog in toe!!So now its my turn to head off and wander..only just don't think it will be for 12 weeks!

We have been to the Normandie for one week, it was definitly great for people like us and their dogs.Long beaches with very few people and the people we met were lovely to Clyde. I really could recommend the Normandie. We stayed in a stone-house on our own with a big fenced garden!

Clyde looks lovely and very happy to be on the beach/sea. We will soon be in Brittany so I hope the beaches where we are going will be as quiet too. Glad you had a good holiday.

This place looks incredibly dog friendly, they even have a private bedroom for your dog! Although Dylan would still end up stretched out on the floor! I think log cabins in amongst the woods are the way to go for a doggy holiday :)

It does llok lovely but it is only about 50 miles from me so no point booking it. I have to say it is a very beautiful part of Wales - red kite country :)

Its a very annoying problem, even 'dog friendly' cottages often say 'one small dog only'. We are going to Scotland in september, where the cottage owners want £200 deposit for a dog in case of damage, which I think is outrageous. Its often easier to go away in a caravan which we also use. There are many beaches in UK where in the summer you are not allowed to take dogs. Our local dog training club just told me they can't hire a hall nearer to us as all the halls dislike dogs, they say people complain about 'fur' and 'smell' even though they keep things spotless. I think its sad that our friends are being gradually outcast in this way.

Yep i agree its a real struggle to take 3 dogs anywhere but we have been lucky so far and always found somewhere in the end its one of the reasons i started this topic
