Which means up at 4.20 am and off to the beach.
I have soome wrecked borzois, one of them is Blistay. His one front leg had been broken, and healed wrong. So he is somewhat instabile on his forelegs. I took the chance to let old Blistay off the leash too. I was afraid he would overdo it and make a salto with his weak forelegs, but he was very careful with his movements.
Noses in the sand.
Blissy on his own.
Temporary sit-down strike from Penticton. I think he'd wanted to sleep a little longer.
They did not get that duck. They didnt even try. Get wet?! No!
Pencticton almost has same color as the stones.
They've got sunlight on the other shore now. Our shore is still in shadow.
Funny thing that proves the earth is round.. - now that we are here because of "the Professor"
Upper part is taken of a distant shore while standing. Lower part is taken from same spot, with same settings, just laying down now. A part of the distant coast has disappeared, and the smaller lighthouse has also disappeared. The other is visible but appears smaller.
Jaroff spotted a rabbit.
Pause before going home
If Penticton wants to really nose to something, he simply kneels down.
Blistay should not walk all the way, he gets a ride.
Then: The Birthday cake.
And a visit to Cat Mum's place.
Yes, he did step her on the toes a moment later.

Pause at the beach, near the castle.
On the ther side of the castle, was an oldtimer car meeting.
Volvo 544, it has something borzoi like...
Need a car with a large trunk? Just for a Hitchcock movie, plenty of room for dead bodies.
Ten, the Gangstercar, Imagine the 1920's Chicago, this car speeding down the road, rear window open, and a man with felthat and sunglasses shooting wild with a Thompson machine gun.
At the harbor
Aother pause at the castle.
The boys.
The brige was open, a small ship got trough, and now the bridge is closing again.
On the home way, Blistay, my old second hand borzoi had to get in the smal wagon, in order to save his bad foreleg.
Then, on the way home, at a bus stop, there was a beer bottle. There is a deposit on them, so I picked it up. It apeared not to be empty, so I thought to empty it in the grass alongside the road. But the Penticton my deerhound with nickname Professor who must know everything, and collects that knowledge with his head. Meaning a deerhoundhead full of beer.
We were late home, so I put up the professor-washing for nezt day. With the result that he sneeked in my bed at night, and next day the whole house smelled like a pub. So, next day he got washed, as well as the bed lining.
All that for some 16 eurocent, or 20 UScent of deposit...
Here is the professorwash.

I hope he didn't have a Thompson machine gun too..
That car belongs to one of my former teachers from technical college. I have been a bit involved in making spare parts for it because we are ow involve in the Radio museum, and we joked about the gangster scenario there.

I started early off, earlier as usual, and walked the red/white russians as it was still too dark for photos. Then Penticton and Blistay to the beach a little later as usual. Because sunday morning we have everything to ourselves.
Rain approaching again.
And then the silence is broken, and how.
By... The massed bands of the Honourable Artillery Company and the Nottinghamshire Band of the Royal Engineers.
(The shorter names were all taken?)
With Trumpets, Trombones, Bagpipes, Drums..
Which does not affect the "Professor" and Blissy at all.
They come close, Penticton does look up, but they don't want to cuddle. Blissy was not affected by a marching and playing orchestra at this unusual place and unusual time. It takes more to impress him. In fact it only takes a cat..
A part of the job as Major here is to have a marching orchestra in the Garden on an early sunday morning.
We had more important things to do.
Good camouflage, isnt it?
The old Blistay and the sea.
Penticton will home, and sleep again. I thin he'd preferred the evening walk, even if it was in rain.

My deerhound has a nose. Most deerhounds have... But his nose is very demanding, and takes him here and there.
Into the green...
Into close encounter with the new painted fence.
Next to the nose is his tongue. He shares that willingly, have a closer look at the pictures.
We met a friend of my dogs. he is spastic and uses a wheelchair. He cant talk, and somethimes hits the dogs with his uncontrolled movements. They dont care.
Blistay and Penticton nosing.
Luggage check.
Facewash.
Cuddling.

Well, here are the combined efforts of camera and deerhound and the rest of his pack.
The past month I had a lot of construction work on my premises. The 60 years old drains had given up, and new drains were drawn. That gave a lot of mud.
No, the dogs did not dig that.
Take me out of here...!
But now that is done, they finished before Christmas.
Good that the rains came to work, because we had lots of rain.
We walked on the water, or so it seems.
On the way home we visited Cat Mum, here are the boys in her kitchen.
Then yesterday Cat Mum was here.
Welcome Cat Mum!
The big one smells something edible.
Surrounded..
Yes she had brought something.
I can dance!
10 days ago, there was still a deep hole here. Now walking on my lawn is posstible again.
