Is there going to be a meeting at Rumbling Bridge in April?

You're right we're now based down in the south east of england. So the Cheltenham CaniX competition is probably my next one. However, I would have really liked to get to Glentress. Please let us know how you get on. Elise

Hi Elise,

Just back from the canix race at Peebles. So glad you told us about it. We ended up entering Paul with both dogs as I'd been a bit lazy over training. But when we got there they mentioned that it was a 5.8k course and very tough on the dog's feet. Beanie gets bored on long slow runs and she's not got the toughest of feet so we decided to pull her out.

Biggles was in his element. He was made for the sport. At lure coursing he hasn't a hope at keeping up with Beanie as she's so fast, but put him in a harness and let him run through a forest and there's no stopping him. He bayed every step of the way and looked just as fresh at the end as he did at the beginning.

We're going to take a look and see if there are any more races close enough for us to travel too. If so I'll enter into the 2k with Beanie so she doesn't feel left out.

Thanks for telling us about it!

Susan

Hi Susan

Thanks very much for letting me know how you all got on. Really pleased Biggles enjoyed it and coped with it well. I did finish a race once obviously looking worse for wear and someone asked whether I had actually taken the dog as she looked as if she'd just stepped out of the car! I do find the events great fun though.

I think the next furthest north event will be at Kielder Water and Forest Park in Northumberland. However, the events remaining for this season are all down in the south of England or in Wales I think but it all starts again in Sept. Hopefully, they will also manage to put on more events in Scotland next season.

All the best for the training and hopefully we'll manage to meet up at an event in due course. Elise
