That is amazing, such a small box and it goes at good speed. Those two will be on top form at the next event ;-)

We're planning on giving Biggles some runs on his own. His big sister is so fast that the poor little boy is always trailing along behind her. It's the same when we play fetch - he doesn't bother to run after the ball because she always wins. We figure if he runs alone, or if we always give him a head start it'll build his confidence. So hopefully next time Biggles WON'T go wandering off out of the field and (when Kevin soaks the lure in tripe juice to keep him interested) he WON'T take the most direct route from the start to the finish line so he can wait for the lure and pounce on it!! :)

We'll see! But it really is great fun - we just need the snow to thaw so we can use it properly.

How's the weather up north? We don't have deep snow - but the snow that fell before Christmas froze solid and is still here. The fast moving burn at the bottom of our garden is frozen solid. Even the sea at Irvine beach has big slabs of ice floating in it! I've never known it to be so cold for so long.

We've had snow off and on today. It just piles up on the frozen stuff already here. Not sure what it's like at Rumbling Bridge, hope for an update from someone closer.

Bryn went 'over the top' today in the paddock. The snow is at least two feet deep and he started off bounding around then the red mist descended and he took off doing lap after lap of the paddock. I had to practically rugby tackle him to a halt to get his lead on. He was completely balled up with snow and looked ready to drop. It was in to the house, a couple of squares of my mums home made tablet to boost his sugar level and warm towels to melt his snow suit. I think he is in need of a visit to Sue and Kevin.

Are you going Sid?

Can't get off the farm with any guarantee of getting back in, so no. I shall stay in front of the fire tomorrow and sip hot buttered rum. Come to think of it...

My mouth is watering just thinking about that. As much as I love my dogs, they would have to be standing over my cold corpse before I let them get anywhere a square of homemade tablet. I'm a pure maddie for it.

I've just spotted the date for the next event on Sue and Kevin's blog (31st Jan):

www.lure-coursing.blogspot.com/

We can't wait! Beanie and Biggles have been practicing in the garden :

And we're hopeful that they'll be bringing another Beagle buddy. So *maybe* 6 Beagles coming from the West of Scotland!

Sure is, Betina.

I'm wearing a long tweed coat and trilby, and Sid, Sue and Marjory are wearing the flapper gear...
