turnerhester created the topic: Scottish Deerhound Quest
Hi all,

We adopted a beautiful, gentle Scottish Deerhound/ Greyhound lurcher just over a year ago.
We have completely fallen in love with him and are looking to adopt a Scottish Deerhound.
We wondered if anybody out there knows of one that needs TLC in a loving home?

Thanks Hester

Hi Turnerhester

Welcome to the Forum and I hope that you find it useful etc.

This may be slightly cheeky but I noticed on an earlier posting in the General deerhound Chat topic that there is a deerhound bitch 2 years old in a rescue in shropshire.

shropshire.retiredgreyhou...opt-a-greyhound

Good luck :)

Thanks.
I already followed this up and unfortunately Portia cannot live with a cat! :(
Thanks all the same. My quest continues......

We are now the proud owners of a beautiful Deerhound (with a smidge of Greyhound).
He is loving his new family and will hopefully soon forget the concrete floor he slept on and the cage he lived in!

He is absolutely lovely! The Vet declared him a very healthy boy. He just needs a bit more weight.
Jonah, his name gets on like a house on fire with Merlin, our other Deerhound x.
Thanks for your nice replies!

Jonah is still anxious with strangers and when he sees a stick he moves away.
Compared to 3 weeks ago however he has gained so much confidence. I think he believes he's here to stay now.
He's the most unassuming boy and craves love all the time....which he gets in buckets!
Merlin has welcomed Jonah as a partner in crime and shown him how you can easily nick things of the worktop around dinner time" :)
Merlin and Jonah are completely used to eachother, a real team. Even the cat approves!
Thanks for all your lovely comments. :)
