Well after 2 years we finally did it.

"Caribou Gypsy Queen" has finally whelped a beautiful litter to our resident Sire "Deernbull Slingshot" this afternoon.

This is the result of three attempt's to mate this pair and finally she fell pregnant.

We have been waiting a long time to bring this line of Deerhounds into our kennels, as this is

'REAL OLD BLOOD, IN AUSTRALIAN DEERHOUNDS'.

Mapleridge Kennel's is very careful about the Gene Pool here in Australia and we carry a large number of Deerhound's to keep the lines that are worth keeping. We know the lineage behind these pup's and we are thrilled with the outcome as an addition to our Kennels.

More to come after she has finished whelping!

Richard,
congrats on another litter,
we find one litter is hard work, but 3 in 4 months must be a REAL challenge.

Hi Dave and Pam,
Yes, three litters so close is a real challenge, but we can only breed in the off hunt season as we work our Deerhounds 8 months of the year, March to October. We have been rying to get this bitch in pup for so long and we are thrilled with the outcome to Slingshot.
Hope your litter is doing well.

Whippets are a bit quicker than him though but he loves chasing them but finds it hard to catch them as they are just to quick at turning. :P

Hello Jodie

I have a relative of your Major. Deernbull Slingshot is a full brother to my young Ronnie's grandmother Deernbull Bear, so they are kind of cousins!

Where in Australia are you?

Have fun with your boy and I am so glad he has found a lovely home.
