holidays with multiple (big) dogs was created by houndy
Has anyone any ideas on where to go on holiday in this country with 5 dogs all medium to XL?

I would love to go to Scotland, Norlfolk, Cumbria, Snowdonia and the Lake district and I want to take 5 hounds with me. Happy to stay in a caravan or cottage. Not interested in hotels ect. Somewhere where we can come and go without being under scrutiny.

Sorry - just realised that this thread is in the wrong section

We stayed with Taryn in Wales this year, she has kennel facilities for the dogs,or you can have them in the wing of the farmhouse she lets out with you. They're great fun and make you feel really at home.See Brackenland Deerhounds.

I think Houndy lives near Taryn! wouldn't be much of a holiday!! You can try googling 'holidaying with dogs' that might help.

I just thought it would be nice to hear if others had a successful holiday with their hounds rather than google it. Word of mouth usually gives a good feeling of a place

A couple of years ago we had a cottage in the lakes with 4 hounds, tiny village called Boot, lovely dog walks straight from the door, straight opposite a real ale pub.The pub was called Boot Inn and the cottage belonged to them.I can recommend it.

Sue Rose who is based in central scotland has dog friendly accommodation. She has deerhounds herself and runs the scottish lure coursing events. Her directory entry is =http://www.scottish-deerhound.com/directory?sobi2Task=sobi2Details&catid=8&sobi2Id=8

If you look at the race on fire hill video you get an idea of the immediate area too.

We walk. I dont have a car, but we walk, bring a csmall wagon where a dog can have a ride if getting tired, we bring a small, but not too small tent, and stay on dog friendly camping sites, or visit dog friendly humans.
Next summer I have heard rumours that Pentictons breeder may come by, they likred the region. They probably bring something like 8 deers, thats going to be fun.
