 Personally I didn't want to re-raise the issue of Beasty and hats as we know where that went last time! :P

You do seem rather well versed in matters horticultural HB. I was staggered at your knowledge of poppies a few weeks back, and now it's black spot! Hats off to you (so to speak). :)

As for HB in my garden Dylan, that's not a bad idea :woohoo: I'll have to ship him over here to personally pick the black spot off each of the roses as it's the only way to get rid of the stuff. Did I mention there's something like 400 roses in the garden? :cheer: I'll pay him in gin

Not entirely true Shelley...but things may be different in the US...Black spot is a fungal infection encouraged by shortage of Potash in the soil..and damp weather..
Always pick up fallen rose leaves,as they spread the infection back into the soil..
Spray in spring with Multirose,Roseclear,Systhane or Dithane 90...and as required in summer/autumn...products may be under different names or banned in the USA...
Or as you say..please send plane ticket... ;) payment in gin sounds fine...and sausages..

Dunno HB You're kind of ruthless with the black spot! Not very "PC" at all. I'm thinking of all the dead butterflies and ladybugs that might cross your path in my garden! Still, gin and sausages has a sort of poetic resonance. Is that a Scottish meal? Or might one substitute moose jerky and pickled egg? :S

I am English not Scottish...but Moose jerky and pickled eggs sounds fine.. just go easy on the pickled eggs...
