LindsayP wrote: The photos of the pups in the snow are lovely.. unfortunately Bonnie (Kizzy) is still suffering with a poorly back leg and hasnt been out in the snow very much.

I am very upset that her leg is still not better, despite plenty of rest and a couple of visits to the vets now. We are still not sure how she did it... have been with her pretty much constantly and it just seemed to come on shortly after she was 5 months old, although she has since slipped over in the snow in the yard. The vet seems to think it could be due to straining ligaments or tendons in the knee, and I am reluctant to get her knocked out and xrayed - as I dont believe that this wouldnt show any soft tissue injurys.

Her leg seems worse after she has rested and seems to ease up after shes moved round a bit although she isnt putting her full weight on it. She hasnt ever cryed with pain and it certainly doesnt stop her trying to run and fly round the house (although I am obviously trying to stop her doing this !) Fingers and paws it clears up soon ...although any advice would be very welcome. I have read previous threads on here and seems some of you have had similar issues :)

Hi Brodie hope its okay crashing in on your topic, Just read this posting. You might be better contacting a local greyhound track and asking what vet they use? As they will have alot more experience with injurys that the hound group are prone to. Hope shes better soon :)

Thanks for your comment/thoughts Mitchga. I have seen consulted with a couple of vets now and she has been xrayed. Turns out that unfortunately she has damaged her cruciate ligament, which can be difficult to treat, and i am not in favour of operating. We have limited her using it (as much as is possible with a young pup) and just hope there will be some improvement after all the rest. Been a bit overwhelmed with many different suggestions /alternative treatments etc., but my understanding is there is no simple solution to the problem. Thanks for your advice though.

Behula is looking wonderful Brodie (although obviously not as beautiful as Kizzy (aka Bonnie)... ;) )

As far as I know Lindsay, they are settled in their new homes & I do post pictures when they arrive but they have slowed down now (hint). :P
As you are aware we headed south to see Hamish a few weeks ago & he was a credit to Tony & Lisa. But things here have slowed down as I have been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis which probably explains why it hurts to do anything. More specialists & tests to complete. :(

Hi Lindsey, I'm so sorry to hear that Kizzy is still having problems with her leg, I hope it improves for her after all the rest. It must be very difficult to keep her from over-doing it if she is anything like Hamish who currently goes bonkers in the evening for a couple of hours! Hamish is doing really well and is a wonderful companion, he is so full of character and very cheeky at times! Millie is still a bit scared of him because he is much bigger than her now, but she is getting more confident with giving him a telling off when he needs it! I've had trouble because my 11 year old son has just had a severe relapse of his M.E. and can't walk anywhere and has been signed off school so I'm worried about how I will fit all the dog walks in, especially if he is home tutored again. It is very upsetting because we thought he was fully recovered but he couldn't cope with starting P.E. again and then crashed. Fingers crossed he will improve quickly with enough rest but it is a worry now we know he can relapse. Juggling a sick child with a bouncy puppy has not been that easy, but I am trying my best!

John, I'm so sorry to hear that you have been poorly, I hope you feel better soon! Loving the picture of Beheula at Crufts, she is such a beauty, as are all the Lodhainn B pups! I have some piccies of Hamish in the pipeline and I will send them to you as soon as possible. I've got some nice ones of a poorly Will and Hamish having a cuddle! Best wishes to you and San xx

Hello Lisa,
Sorry to hijack this tread but I'm so sorry to hear your son is suffering from a relapse of M.E., I know this isn't the place but if there was a way to get my details to you without putting them on a public forum I'd love to talk to you. I suffered from M.E. most of my adult life and have been 95% well for the last 4ish years. I've climbed hills and been able to do things which challenge me day after day, with little or no recovery period required, (which as you will know is a fairly big deal!). I hope your son improves soon & this is only a wee setback. Sending him (& u) love & best wishes xxx
