Took these today at Castle Fraser in Aberdeenshire. Could be Deerhounds I think.

Took these at Huntly Castle. Unfortunately, the frontspiece over the door was vandalised a very long time ago when the castle was sacked and taken over by others. For some reason, the dogs head was chopped out!

Yep thanks for the photographs, pretty interesting.
I'll have to dig out a roman knife handle I found a few years ago, and put a pic of it up.
It's design on the handle was originally a hound chasing a hare. Although I only have part of it.
