I'm an independant book seller and my supplier has access to a huge catalogue of books both in and out of print. If there is a particular title that you were struggling to find I may be able to source it – although it can sometimes take weeks to get an out of print title in. I’d have to put the transaction through my business though – it’s nothing to do with this website. So if it’s something you are interested in please contact me privately preferably with ISBN's and I'll see if I can help. Thanks
Rob

Ooh Rob that is really handy to know

Cheers :)

The Hoflin site is a good one. They have many breed annuals...nice hard bound books, nice collectables. I recently picked up Audrey Benbow's book...you can never have too many books, collectables or antiques. More to dust...I found this pic on a site..sure wish I could lay my hands on it..if even for a moment...

No Jeorg, they are Deerhounds. What a magnificent table it is. Was part of an exhibition in France and it now resides at ?Ironbridge Gorge Museum.

There was a smaller table on Ebay which had Greyhounds and the asking price was $5000 US. I believe the DH table was bought for 70,000 pounds

When I looked for you I also checked these sites (see list below) - good for out of print books - I couldn't find them, but it might be worth checking every so often.

www.abebooks.co.uk/
www.alibris.com/
www.biblio.com/

Good luck

Rob

There's a reading list on the site of the Scottish Deerhound Club of America. It's not complete, but getting there..
Apart from the the three important monographs on deerhounds (the books by Cupples, Weston Bell, and Hartley) I would not want to miss Kenneth Cassels' A Most Perfect Creature of Heaven, a second hand copy of which can be found on Amazon.co.uk Marketplace at 50 GBP.

Another interesting title which I forgot to mention is Coursing: the Pursuit of Game with Gazehounds (ed. Richard Grant-Rennick). It has a chapter on deerhounds written by Anastasia Noble.

I think Kenneth Cassells still has copies of his book available and I'm sure they're less than £50 ech - PM me if you want contact details. I read Coursing: The Pursuit etc way back in the day and it is an excellent book.

It's possible Cassels still has some copies, but he told me some time ago there weren't many left. I bought mine for 16 GBP (p&p included) so it's certainly worth a try.
One other classic is Scrope's The Art of Deer Stalking.

There's also a new book called "Running Dogs" edited by Tony Read, that is fairly new and has info on deerhounds. Quite an interesting read on all sight/running hounds. You can get it on amazon and also on ebay.co.uk
