TOPIC: Quote of the day...

Quote of the day... 7 years 6 months ago #25559

Best quote today was overheard as two old ladies walked along a footpath at the back of the barns..remarking on the amount of shed wool on the ground and on the fence, one says to the other..."is it sheep thats left all this wool?"

My favorite is the flustered old lady that came in to the office while rummaging in her handbag. She didn't look up and just said "I know I'm a bit early, but I thought you could fit me in if your quiet"

She thought she was in the hairdressers next door

She looked up sharpish when I said I couldn't 'fit her in' til she stopped breathing

Good point, HB Jr, but these flowers taste wonderful and an egg buttie is greatly improved thereby. Give it another try, lad.

Re:Quote of the day... 7 years 6 months ago #25890

Last week Sarah was at Kindy and they were reading a story "....Jack and Jill had a picnic basket and a picnic blanket.... so where were they going?" Sarah puts up her hand and says "a hunt!" the teacher says to her "no Sarah, they had a picnic basket and a picnic blanket so where were they going?" so Sarah says "I just told you A HUNT". Think she's been to too many hunt breakfasts lately.

Then I was getting ready last week and was putting on my stock. I asked Sarah if she knew what it was called and she said "a ribbon????" so I said " no, its a stock. and whats it for?" to which she answered "its to keep your head on if you fall off"

Sarah and I have been discussing our toddler Ella who is rather mischievous. I said to Sarah after one incident where I had to remove her head from some bars or something "D'you think we should change her?" Sarah says "yes" and I thought she was going to say something about getting a baby brother etc but no, she continued "we could get a salad instead"

Then last night Sarah and I were having a chat before bed and i asked if she remembered when Mummy had Ella in my tummy. Sarah was very serious and Said "oh yes, then Daddy pulled her out of your tummy and we put her in the sea and Granny from Scotland cut her tail off" I can see we may have to have serious therapy in future for the two kids.

Nice try, but Mrs Hairybeasty is far too much of a lady to have passed those genes on. Admit it, Al, he gets it from you!

Talking of genes,we took HB junior to the doctors for his jabs last week...
The nurse was asking him questions about his body.."what are your ears for"..etc
When asked what his nose was for..he replied earnestly..
"For picking".. :pinch:
