:( Ace is a Deerhound x at Happy endings Rescue in Kent. www.happyendingsrescue.org/#/needing-a-home

There are better pictures of him on their facebook page :)

He was an owner surrender with a smaller lurcher, although they do not need to be homed together. Like so many lurchers he is still active and healthy at 10 and now needs desperately to get out of kennels. We all know how our lovely breed ( including x's ) do not thrive in kennels. It kills them inside. :(
He is dog friendly, not cat friendly and is said to be adorable and very very sweet.

Surely somebody must be able to help him?
If you can help him please contact the rescue directly. xx

Ace is 28inch tts and 30 to the top of his tail so not a big boy
.

Thank you for posting about ACE and he so wants our help to find a home or foster, especially in this cold weather. Mind you being in kennels is probably a luxury for him as he's spent all his life, 10 years, in an outdoor kennel with little care. His nails were horrific.

The Rescue in Kent say he's a darling and obdedient. He'll be rehomed without the other little dog who has been bullying him.

Please do pass his information around as there's not been much interest in him. We adopted Smokey a DH/GHx at the age of 9/10 and, like her, Ace has plenty of life left in him. Smokey loved running out into our garden, pouncing and tossing a ball in the air, nipping at the greyhounds to play but they looked at her if she was mad. Her walks were great fun as she bound down the road looking back at you to hurry up, nibbling at your hand and was just so, so happy. They have a lovely kind personality but you've got to be prepared for them to talk to you or sing. I would not have missed our time with her as it's one of the best memories I have but oh, how I miss her.

Don't rule out the older dogs as they have so much companionship to offer you. :)
