Retired Greyhound looking for a special home and sofa. I work as a kennel hand for a trainer and we have a black greyhound who raced at Peterborough now looking for a home. Retired greyhound kennels sponsored by GBGB have had their allocation of dogs and funding reduced and at present cannot take him in.

"Head Back" is his racing name and he is a loving happy hound that is breaking my heart as I cannot offer him a home at present.
Anyone who feels able to give him a happy life please contact me via PM and further details can be supplied.

Good news, I,m bringing him home to live with me and my landlords. They said they.d be willing to give him a home and we,ll share the care of him.

I,m so pleased just hope he behaves!
Thank you to this site for allowing me to post on this topic and to Stussy for her post. Retired Greyhounds can resettle and become wonderful companions.

I've just taken in a retired Greyhound from rescue, unfortunately don't know anything of his history, he's got a few scars from somewhere in his past. Here's a picture of Timbar.

and another of him running with Lola, another rescue.

Rob if you can read his tats - then you can put them in on the greyhound date site
and find out more about him.

He looks more Lurcher to me Rob, I may be wrong, but he has wispy hair on his tail and his face is lighter than his body, which would be unusual in a pure bred Greyhound. Also the fact he has scars, could be from hunting. But whatever, he looks a lovely boy and he will have a fantastic life with you and Lola. For the record, has he got any tattooing in his ears?

His head seems a bit broad for a Greyhound but he does have a tattoo in his ear although it's very hard to read as it seems to have faded, I'll keep trying.

Ours had KVE09 in her ear if I remember rightly, but it wasn't clear. He looks lovely though and seems to have fitted right into place!

My in laws are breeders/trainers and all their greyhounds stay with them to the very last. There were 4 that she had taken in from elsewhere that they had to rehome but it was all filmed for a TV programme, highlighting how wonderful they are as pets. One of the boys ended up in Italy, with a family with small children, a cat and pet rabbits, it was amazing to see. I miss ours, they were lovely dogs and not half as much maintenance as a Deerhound (don't tell him I said that!) but they do make fantastic house dogs

Looks like SH in right ear and DNO in left, could be HS or 5H in right. Could be DN0 or 0ND or OND in right!

Cannot locate his history from this, the site is unable to find a registration. I'll keep persevering in case I'm reading it wrong!

Think its HS in right ear which means he was born in 2007 in Ireland. Can't get a match on the database but I'll have another go at reading the right ear. I've found out that the O is a Q and O's aren't used! Could be he's not in the database which can happen sometimes!
