I shouldn't be so vague:blink: , snow chains are very effective but I was shown a video of snow socks for the wheels rather than chains and I wondered what Dr Grumpy thought?

Not having a 4x4, one does have to think of these things:P

Save yourself the money by beating nails into your tyres....twice the grip...and half the mileage on your car...
Unless of course you have a passion for chains....in which case fill your boots..
It doesnt matter if you dont have a 4x4...people will just laugh behind your back....

Personal experience surely as the scientific explanation throws up more questions than it answers....such as why do men grow into full sized beings rather than stay at 3 foot high..and why are women crap with power tools ??:P

I can answer both of those questions - Hormones!!
a) Growth hormone and 2)lack of Testosterone (they dont mention that you need it on the operating manuals of power tools!)
But that still doesn't explain why men have nipples!!! Male dogs don't!?

Yes they do, I asked my vet what a lump on Ben's underside was and he told me that it was a nipple. dh:)

But seriously...havent seen socks in action...but saw some chains on the front tyres of a pick-up last week..we drove it up a snowy and icy steep mountain..over rocks and dirt..then up a pack-ice track..and down again...fabulous things..£200 will get a good set..:)
Hope this helps.

Next question, what's the best way to get the £200 for the chains?

Mutton flogging is out the question due to semiderelict condition of my carcass:whistle:

Why do men have nipples?............

After much soul searching...I have the answer....;)
Men have nipples in case they decide to undergo "gender re-assignment surgery "..
Otherwize they are merely fashion accessories..:woohoo:

May I suggest that you put on your best coat...;) and put a big hairy lurcher on a bit of string...and sit in a doorway in the nearest town...
You may not get much money...but you might get a part in Russel Crowes next film...:P

What I want to know is what breeds of dogs you actually own at present - you have a great number of them don't you?
I specifically wonder how that sweet little pug is doing. You posted a blurry photo of him once. Ever so cute.

At the peak of it...I had 3 working borders...a working lakeland X..a border collie (that gave us 4 lovely pups )..a working d/hound...and a Sporting Lucas terrier... ferrets...and 27 horses...;) ..a full time job.. a small boy...and a wife..
Now down to just a working border..a working Lucas...a working d/h...14 horses...ferrets..a small boy...and a wife..
Pug has gone to the mother in laws house...the terriers didnt like him...but cash has been put in trust...bitch pug on the way after we move house and job..puppies soon..;)

Isn't it amazing what the Almighty thought of in advance? Thank heavens that's cleared up at last...
